Slate is a stylish and durable material, no wonder more and more people are opting for a slate floor, not only in their kitchen but in other spaces of their home as well. As part of the work, I replaced the old laminate floor with slate in the living room and hallway and installed ceramic tiles on the floor and walls of the bathroom. This job was a great occasion to experience the ineffective underlay under the old wood floor – which is causing heat loss, thus increasing the heating costs and reducing the comfort of our homes.
